Proposal Status Explained

Every proposal in Quidly has a status. It shows you at a glance which phase the proposal is currently in – from creation to close.

The Six Statuses at a Glance

  • Open: The proposal has been newly created. There has been no active follow-up yet. (Automatically set upon creation).

  • Follow-up Due: The follow-up date has been reached. (Automatically set by the system).

  • In Progress: You are actively in contact with the customer, have sent a message, or have arranged a callback.

  • Paused: The proposal is not being pursued for the time being. (You set this manually).

  • Won: The customer has placed the order.

  • Lost: The proposal has been rejected or has expired.

When the Status Changes Automatically

If the entered follow-up date is reached and the proposal is "Open", the status changes to "Follow-up Due".

All other statuses remain untouched:

  • In Progress remains, as you are already actively working on the proposal.

  • Paused is respected by the system until you unpause it yourself.

  • Won / Lost are considered closed and no longer appear in your active lists. Important: If you set a proposal to "Won" or "Lost", Quidly automatically clears the follow-up date. This way, you won't receive unnecessary reminders.

The "Follow Up Now" Button

As soon as a follow-up date is reached, a prominent button appears next to the status. It's your signal: You need to take action today.

When does the button appear?

  • For proposals with the status "Follow-up Due".

  • For proposals "In Progress", when the date for the next reminder is reached.

When does the button not appear?

  • For paused or closed proposals.

Clicking the button opens the text generator for your messages. You can find all details in the article "The AI Follow-up Generator".

Why does Quidly differentiate between Status and Button?

The status describes the current overall situation ('Where is the proposal?'). The follow-up button requests a concrete action ('Do I need to do something today?'). Both work in parallel: You can be in contact with a customer ('In Progress') and simultaneously have a reminder set for the next call in three days.
