Creating a new quote in Quidly takes less than a minute. You don't need a PDF for this — you can also simply type in the most important data yourself at any time.
Opening the Input Window
In your dashboard or the Quotes overview, click the button '+ New Quote'. A window will open where you can enter the key data.
Required and Optional Fields
- Customer Name (Required Field): This is the only mandatory entry. The quote cannot be saved without a name.
- Quote Number (optional): It's best to enter the number from your actual quote program here, so you can quickly assign everything later.
- Description (optional): What is the project about? (Tip: If you upload a PDF later, Quidly often automatically recognizes the description).
- Contact (optional): Customer's email address, phone number, or mailing address.
- Amount in € (optional): If you enter the sum here, you will always see exactly how much potential revenue is still open for you in your dashboard later.
- Follow-up on (optional): On which day do you want to follow up with the customer? (The 'Follow up now' button appears from this date).
- Note (optional): Space for your own remarks. These will later appear as the first entry in the quote's history (the so-called timeline).
The Follow-up Date
This date is the core of Quidly. Once the selected day is reached, the following happens:
-
Your quote appears on the dashboard in the 'Pending' list.
-
The status automatically changes from 'Open' to 'Follow-up Due'.
-
A prominent 'Follow up now' button appears, so you can get started right away.
Important: If you leave this field empty when creating the quote, the quote will simply remain permanently in the 'Open' status. Quidly will not remind you automatically until you add a date later.
After Saving
The quote immediately lands in the Quotes overview with 'Open' status.
Want to change or add something later? Simply click on the Quote Number in the list – a preview will open where you can directly edit all fields. If you click on the Customer Name instead, you will go to the detailed page for that quote.
